「それは、作者よ。そして、作者を操っていたのは、夕暮れの憂鬱だの、遠い国の戦争だの、一服の煙草の煙よ。そして、その夕暮れの憂鬱だの、遠い国の戦争だの、一服の煙草の煙だのを操っていたのは、時の流れ。時の流れを操っていたのは、糸巻き、歴史。いいえ、操っていたものの一番後にあるものを見ることなんか誰にも出来はしない。

たとえ、一言でも台詞を言った時から、逃れることの出来ない芝居地獄。

終わる事なんかない。どんな芝居でも終わる事なんかない。ただ、出し物が変わるだけ。

さあ、みんな役割を変えましょう。衣装を脱いで出て来て頂戴！

さあ、もう一度劇と劇との変わり目の地獄を見せてやって頂戴！母捨ての芝居の後には、子捨ての芝居、芝居の革命の後には、革命の芝居、嘘の後にあるのは、ほんとではなくて、また別の嘘。という言い方も、また別の嘘の積み重ね。それが劇。それが人生」
